The World of What to Do and How to Do
The world is divided into two parts. In the first one, people are just doing the things – without know if they are doing it in the right way. In the second one, however, people are aware not only what to do but also how to do it right.
In the first one, they are followers without directions. In the second, however, people clearly know where they are going and how to reach there.
In the first world, people have done a lot but gained little. In the contrary, people in the second world have done less but gained more than people in the first world.
I have seen a lot of first kind of people in a lot of communities and blogs. They keep asking “what should I do to increase traffic of my site?”, “what should I do to increase my page rank?”, etc. The answers, obviously, are very simple:
You should start SEO of your site/blog.
You should get more back link.
You should write a lot of articles.
……
However, seldom are there answers telling HOW to do those things. And it is the knowledge and skill of how to do them and do them right that distinguishes a blogger/marketer/site owner from others.
And knowing how to do things gives you credit being in the second world.
Now, everybody knows that they should SEO their sites/blogs. Have they thought of the question of how to do it better?
And everybody knows that they should write many articles. But have they any idea if their articles are attracting?
Content is the king. All other works, SEO, back link building, etc. are all servicing content.
My suggestion is, other than keeping asking people what to do to boost your blogs/sites, think more of how to provide people with fresh and novel content. And you will become a professional in the second world: doing less, gain more.
And here comes the question: why should I know how to? The answer is very simple: people like new things. – Don’t ask why people like new things! That is nature!
Only with how-to knowledge can you success offering people new and fresh things. New things can be either the things themselves or the way you are telling people about them.
Now we know we should do things to increase business and we know we should do it right. And there’s one last thing you should remember: persistence. You do it, and you do it right, yet you need to keep doing it right.
That is because that in the world there is no new things forever. New things will become old fashioned. Other people will bring new things to outdate yours. Yet you will bring new things to dwarf your own then-new idea from time to time
You keep giving news and people will keep coming back. And that is what a professional should do in the second world – if you don’t, you will be phased out and you will be back to world one.
So, ask yourself every day, am I in the first or second world?
