How to Write Cover Letter

When you apply for a job you would probably write a letter to whom it may concern. The letter should be brief and information rich so as to be appealing. Nobody wants to spend an hour even half an hour reading your crap letter.

Below are some tips.

Introduce yourself briefly – not too long.
State what you would like the reader to know.
Claim your candidacy (which can be approved by your CV).
Include your opinion of the company you are applying with.
Do not forget to thank for the readers time, which is very precious.
Include contact information in your signature.

And here is a sample of my cover letter.

Dear Sirs or Madam,

My name is Eric Zhou. I have been a marketer for more than five years. And also I have had sales experience to support my marketing allegations.

My previous works have given me the opportunities to practise, improve and realize my ultimate marketing ideal, which is to, through delicate, trendy and careful marketing, touch people’s heart and win their loyalty, and in achieving that I could bring returns to both the company and myself.

I believe all successive companies have the same ideal but different stories. I would like to join you as a team member and a reliable partner to write our common and unique story.

I believe I am competent because I am a thoughtful and practice marketer for years. I am a good candidate because I command professional English and Chinese languages as a communicational skill. I am a professional marketer because I am able to fulfill my duties well and in time as I have been.
